Description

He was on his way to his grandmother’s house, to join her in baking some delicious cookies, one lovely spring afternoon. He always rode his bike, for it was but a few miles down the road and over the river.

Hmmm..... I wonder if this sort of thing occurs regularly in the lives of cartoon characters.

The comic presupposes that the character is well acquainted with a perception of reality that is absolute, or else he might judge his recent experience as a part of actual reality he had simply not yet encountered. So, our hero does not base his conception of reality upon his experience alone, which I think is a healthy characteristic... Oh, pretty colors, too!

The narrative, however, says nothing explicit of how the character handles the new reality which challenges the way he perceived it. In fact the very occurrence of his perception of reality being challenged implies that it was narrow enough before the occurrence not to have granted the possibility of the occurrence, and thus was challenged by it!

But the really interesting part is how the narrative implies that his perception was correct, before disaster struck!

Mariel showed me an anime comic thing where (i think) the artist didn't want to come up with anything that week so they just did the comic about how they were tired and the characters were left as rough sketches. Really funny.

(Though I'm sure you meant to do this and didn't just get lazy and stop drawing part of Timby's world. )
