For cosmetic reasons, one day long ago Timby volunteered for the trial of a new technology: the Brain Obfuscator. While containing Timby's brain, it was designed to spin at multimillion RPM. But there was a complication, and the centrifugal force caused his brain to evaporate through the walls of the chamber. It was lost forever.
