Everybody's favorite delusional despot is back! This time he explains geography's hidden nightmare! It will change everything you ever knew. Enjoy!
Yet another really exciting episode!
This episode is interesting to me for a lot of reasons. For one thing, it contains both some of the very oldest footage we filmed and some of the very newest. That part where I bounce off my knees? That was the summer of 2009. (It was also too funny to hurt.)
In contrast, sequences featuring our resident delusional despot (I think he should be called Alex the Great) have only recently been filmed. That footage (all improvised!) is only a few weeks old. But interestingly, my idea for the character dates all the way back to some test footage I filmed with my web-cam in October of 2008.
Of everything in this episode, though, I am most excited by the part with the cameo of a certain lovable character. In this segment, our lovable character was coming back from the grocery store when something bad happened. You'll have to see it for yourself.
The background plate was originally filmed behind the old SermonMP3s.com office building way back in the day. (2007?!) In all honesty, I had forgotten about it until this spring, when Peter and I went to Taco Bell for dinner and started brainstorming (yet again) about how we might bring an animated character to life in the real world.
I suddenly got so excited about the idea, we didn't have time to film another background plate! We dug up the old one and set to work as soon as we got back to the apartment!
The results, to me, are astonishing. That little ten second clip far exceeded my expectations. And you can bet that I have every intention of using this technology again.
By the way, I am happy to report that – despite all appearances – we were not arrested for filming this episode. A kind word turns away wrath, kids. Remember that.
Remember, we did this for you. Please share and enjoy!
