Bucking Sailboat 1x05 - The Renegade Englishman

What are these dastardly designs that the dashing gentleman has set into motion? All we know for sure is that they involve a watch and a stapler. Watch it happen!

Alex's Thoughts

This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the Bucking Sailboat. Perhaps other episodes have existed. And newer episodes will shortly exist. But this, this, is the standard to which the others aspire.

As such, you may rest assured, many lines of sanity are crossed. Some are outright obliterated. We have banshee sidewalks, excited crowds, assorted assaults, and more!

But aside from all that, I find myself particularly enchanted by the exchange between the two fine fellows in the splash image. Gabriel's character clearly has some ulterior motive, and his actions are precisely timed. But they are timed to a watch of a different sort. A watch that measures a dark chronology.

Who knows what it all means.

Anyway, thanks for watching! It means a lot to us. :)

OH NO!!!

Not Johnny John Johnson!!!!

Another awesome episode you guys. :D

I'm not stalking you. If I knew you were going to be here I probably wouldn't have come.

OMGOSH!

This is absolutely the best episode so far! I sincerely love the exchange with the Renegade Englishman and his victim. Perhaps some of the best acting and accents in the entire season! (Seriously guys, I could watch it over and over again.) But not to be overlooked is the surprising amount of talent on Peter's part with the dastardly phone call that lasted over 30 hours. Awesome, astonishing acting guys. Cannot wait for more hilarity to come!

...

The stapling bit looked horrible for just a second, but then I realized it was just Alex so I wasn't so worried anymore =P I'm kind of curious to know how you guys did that without actually shooting Alex in the head but I'm going to assume that the stapler makes the same sound without staples in it and hope that a staple wasn't actually fired...

I love the look Gabe gives just before running off, it looks like he's thinking "I'm gonna get away with what I just did cuz I'm cute and faster than him." X-D

I was very impressed with the random attacking Kevin bit. Alex looked like he almost fell back onto his feet.

Indeed...

I loved your roll, Alex. I miss doing rolls in karate. I just might go practice some...

I may be able to answer this question. Of course, I may also be totally wrong ... kindly disregard me if I am! :P

I believe a staple gun has to have pressure on the front (in addition to the trigger being squeezed) to actually emit a staple.

That's my theory, anyway. =P

Excellent. I love the sidewalk part. My brother has taken to saying "LIKE A BANSHEE!" at random times of the day. These episodes are quite delightful, although this one seemed shorter than the others. They are all hilarious and keep getting better. =]

Thanks a lot guys!

Thanks a lot everybody for their comments! :D

I believe the staple gun was empty during filming.

The stapler

I suspect that Gabe actually fired a staple at Alex. Remember: Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

I loved this episode so much! I loved the Renegade Englishman and his victim. The accents were awesome, the acting exceptional, and the whole skit was just really funny.

Alex said: You just sent a stupid staple careening into my cranium! Hilarious!

Susie & Peter were so funny as the nitpicking girl and the overly sensitive boy. I always like to see more of Susie and Peter. Great job.

This episode is so awesome, that I have to really stop myself from citing every part of it as a favorite. Suffice it to say that you guys have seriously outdone yourselves with this one.

Yay!

Thanks so much for the great feedback, guys! Who knows how long we can keep up this, “best one yet” phenomenon … hopefully a while longer, at least. ;) At any rate, I just hope we don't drive the show off a cliff before the end of the first season. :-P

To satisfy the stapler controversy, the stapler was definitely empty during filming. I intended to add an animated staple to the final footage, but I determined that a staple would not probably not have been visible at that size and speed on the frame.

Fortunately, the believably of the result has more to do with the timing of the reaction than anything else. ;)

Everybody who watched this episode? You rock. Seriously. Share and enjoy!

It's Bucking Sailboat O'clock!

Nicely done! I have to admit I've picked up some groceries in similar circumstances before. Losers weepers!

The UnDude

Wonderful!

It's so good to watch this again. I laughed harder this time, I think, than I did when it was new. I loved the segment with Peter on the phone, but my everlasting favorite is Gabe & Alex and the stapler. Perfect timing n both your parts and an amazing job.
